You can join IPA by filling out the webform below. The Australian Section is divided into 6 Regions, 4 Sub-regions and 3 Branches. Once approved you will be attached to your preferred unit.

Application Requirements
The following information is required or you will not be able to apply online.
- A valid email address.
- At least one phone number.
- Home and postal address.
- Proof of eligibility: Police service history past or present. Location, rank and service number. Date joined, retired or resigned. NOTE: Eligibility requires the applicant to be or have been a sworn police officer, duties include powers of arrest.
- Details of previous IPA membership if applicable: Section and member number.
- Employment details if otherwise employed: Company, address and duties performed.
- Decide which Region or Branch you want to join. Can be different from where you live.
- Determine which Membership Type you are eligible for. See notes on the left.
- Willingness to abide by IPA terms and codes of conduct.
- It is STRONGLY recommended that as soon as you receive your Invoice for payment of the application fee and current year's dues, you use the banking details available at the bottom of the Invoice to arrange an annual automatic payment to the IPA Region you have applied for. Membership commences on the 1st of January each year.

Note, if you use this Word document instead of the online form, you will be contacted by the Region Treasurer in due course to complete the online form to enable the Database to receive the correct information.
Type in your details and email a copy to the local regional treasurer indicated at the bottom of the form together with payment.
Joining the IPA will cost $50. This includes a joining fee of $30 plus your first year's subscription of $20. Membership year commences on the 1st of January.
Direct Debit is available from your financial institution. Contact your Regional Treasurer for BSB and Account details to save having to remember to send off your subscription in December each year. If you are a new applicant, the full banking details you will require are available on the bottom of your Invoice.
Membership Types
Ordinary Membership:
(a) Any serving or retired police officer of any State, Territory or the Australian Federal Police.
(b) Any former police officer who has served in a Police Service and had left such Police Service in good standing.
Foreign Associate Membership:
May be open to serving or retired members of a Police Service where Sections of the Association do not yet exist.
Extraordinary Membership:
May be granted to the spouse of a deceased member, upon application from such spouse through region for endorsement by the National Executive Council.
